I purchased this book for my wife and she loves it, this review is a mix of what she has told me about it and my own thoughts as a neutral buying it as a gift for someone. My only criticism of the book is that the author assumes that the reader is female, with constant references such as "a witch must use HER intuition", as a male witch this threw me off a little.īut other than that this is a sound reference guide for beginner witches or just those who are interested in the subject and wanted to learn more about the beliefs of a witch. This is basically a ready made book of shadows, has all about Gods and Goddesses, Correspondences, planets, herbs, stones, tools, it even has a large section on ready made spells to use, each spell has all the appropriate correspondences around it and allows for substitutes if you don't have something required. This book is amazing for a beginner, has all the basic info about witchcraft, and explains everything in an easy and relatable way, not to mention it is set up like a scrap book, so it has lot's of pictures, colours, charts etc, all very pleasing to the eye and designed to help you take in the informaiton more easily. Silverwind is also a co-founder of Pagan Pride Los Angeles, a religious tolerance group affiliated with the Pagan Pride.
She has taught workshops on love magic at Pagan conventions and book shops and is the author of two Wiccan romance novels and two non-fiction guides: Magic for Lovers and The Everything Paganism Book. About the author Selene Silverwind has been a practising witchcraft for over 15 years. It offers a complete magical introduction, including creating a sacred place, magical ethics, the magical properties of colour, common herbs, stones and flowers. Based on Wiccan philosophy, this book provides practical, hands-on information for spellcraft that is easy to understand and simple to use.
Pitched at apprentice spellcasters, the content is presented in a graphic and attractive way making it a book to dip in and dip out of, learning as you go. Unlike many spell books, the tools and ingredients listed in these pages are common household items (and if not, then an easy-to-find alternative is recommended).
